What is a Trojan?

Remember the story of Troy?

1. Army can't breech the city walls so they give up and pretend to go home.

2. They leave behind a wooden horse as "Tribute"

3. The People bring the horse inside the walls and gloat.

4. The People party, get drunk and go to sleep

5. Little soldiers come out of horse and let more soldiers into the city. 

6. They all reeked havoc.

7. The city crumbles. 

Same thing here.

1. Trojan is a malicious code hidden inside another program. 

2. When you install an infected program, the Trojan is launched.

3. It opens your computer to other bad programs.

4. Your computer crumbles.

A Trojan is simply a computer program that claims it will do one thing but (like a game) but it does something else.. Trojan horses rarely replicate automatically or email themselves.

Trojan horses are a huge security threat. A Trojan is a program that enters your machine, giving the programmer unrestricted access to the data stored on your hard drive. Trojans can do several things:

1. Transmit credit card information and other confidential critical data to the author.
2. Can take over your computer and turn it into an Attack Drone or even a Spam Server
3. The list goes on.
